Securing Data in Internet



This is a million dollor problem now a days securing your data is tedious task now a days. That's why website owners follow some encryptions and decryptions to transfer data.

For example you are sending message from your WhatsApp or any social app that message will be in plain text but Your app sends this data in encrypted format.

Example :

Your Message : "Hi How are you"

Bit format : 0100100001101001 010010000110111101110111 011000010111001001100101 011110010110111101110101

Encrypted Format : 01001000011010011 0100100001101111011101111 0110000101110010011001011 0111100101101111011101011 ( Example Only )

SO basically they will apply some set of algorithms and keys to encrypt data while sending so your data can't be read by other third party users or owners.

So Securing data deals with good number of algorithms for example check this website https://codebeautify.org/encrypt-decrypt to encrypt and decrypt operation on your data. This is sample website designed to demonstrate encryption's and decryption's.

How websites securing data ?

Websites use SSL certificates there are multiple types of ssl certificates in the market.

  • Single domain certificate

  • Wildcard SSL certificate

  • Multi Domain SSL Certificate

  • Unified Communications Certificate

Based on website purpose owners will choose their type of SSL certificate.You need to understand difference between http sites and https sites.

Note : Don't make any transactions in http sites they are not secure.

http sites sends data in plaint text format and they don't use any encrypt-ions so data can be read by third party hackers if they break into your system. If website uses SSL certificates then data sends in encryption format. The algorithms may vary depending on your website configurations and SSL certificate type.

This encryption prevents other third party users or hackers to read our website data.
